MICHAEL TJANDRA is the sound engineer for The Rocks Ministry, an Australian church that is preparing to make a major move

Where is your church, what is its background and what is your role there?

My church is called the Rocks Ministry Inc, and it is located in Cannington, across the Swan River form Perth in Western Australia. It is an Indonesian church and has been running since March 2004 under Pastor Iwan Kosasih, the senior pastor. We conduct a church for young people using English as the main language, as well as holding an Indonesian prayer meeting on Wednesday evenings. I am the sound engineer for the services.

And your services have outgrown your present premises?

Yes. We are still using our current building, which only holds up to 100 people, but we are in the process of waiting for city council approval for a new building that will have a capacity of up to 600. We are expecting the new building to be ready to be occupied early next year, but we are dependent on the city council, and we cannot do anything before we get formal approval.
